The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, March 19, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a cold front finally clears South Florida and the East
Coast, the risk of widespread severe thunderstorms will end
today. However, snow will continue near and along the Great
Lakes, with locally enhanced snowfall expected for parts of
the region and into the Northeast with a pair of cold fronts
progressing to the east. These fronts will bring much colder
air into the northern Plains and the far northern High
Plains, especially Montana. The Four Corners region will
once again be another center of activity as a stalled
disturbance continues to produce rain and snow showers that
will expand in coverage during the afternoon. Much of the
rest of the country is expected to remain dry thanks to
large areas of high pressure over the Gulf Coast and the
Rockies.
