NATIONAL SUMMARY
Another storm will begin to take shape in the central and
southern Plains today, spreading showers and thunderstorms
across much of the center of the country. Thunderstorms will
be severe early on in Missouri and expand in coverage to
stretch from Indiana to Texas. The main threats from the
storms will be for large hail and damaging wind gusts. In
the Northeast, rain and drizzle will linger through the day,
and temperatures will trend lower than previous days. Most
of the West will remain largely dry, with the exception of a
shower or two in the higher elevations of the Rockies. It
will be another cool day in the northern Plains and northern
Rockies, with temperatures remaining 5-10 degrees below
historical the average. Much of the southern United States
will continue to experience very warm conditions.
