Police fatally shoot a man who sliced an officer's face during a scuffle
Police in Indiana say an officer fatally shot a knife-wielding man after the officer was cut in the face during a scuffle. State police say 26-year-old Joshua Richard of Noblesville was fatally shot by Beech Grove Police Lt. Jeff Bruner. Beech Grove officers were called early Wednesday to an apartment where a woman said her child’s father arrived hours too early for visitation. Deputy Police Chief Tom Hurrle told WXIN-TV that the man drew a knife and told officers they would have to shoot him. Hurrle says the officers used a Taser and tried to restrain him, but after Bruner was cut in the face, the officer fired a single shot and killed the man.
