NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms developing ahead of an advancing cold front
will have the potential to become severe today from northern
Minnesota into parts of the southern Plains, bringing the
threat of hail, strong wind gusts and downpours that may
lead to flooding. A more general thunderstorm risk will
continue eastward into the Tennessee and Ohio valleys, also
reaching the Virginia and North Carolina coastline by day's
end. Afternoon thunderstorms may also build across interior
sections of the Southeast. Rain will continue to fall in the
Pacific Northwest as a disturbance winds down, with heat
expanding in the Southwest. Thundershowers will also pop up
