Two U.S. officials say the American-built aid pier off Gaza's coast will be detached and moved for a second time due to rough seas. The halt in aid operations raises further questions about the viability of the sea route for desperately needed humanitarian aid. Palestinians are facing widespread hunger because the Israel's war in Gaza has largely cut off the flow of food, medicine and other supplies. The two US officials said military is detaching the causeway and moving it late Friday and into Saturday to prevent it from breaking apart, as it did late last month in bad weather. The officials expect it will be back in place by next week and will be operating again. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military planning.
