“Rage” by Lester Fabian Brathwaite is part memoir, part academic review of culture and society, and part philosophical musings of a queer Black millennial man who was born in Guyana and grew up in New York. The book fits comfortably alongside the words of other greats whom it references, like Huey P. Newton, James Baldwin and Nina Simone. Donna Edwards of The Associated Press says Brathwaite is not only a great writer, but a great thinker. While he can be abrasive, it adds to his charm and strengthens the vulnerable moments. “Rage” is released this week from Tiny Reparations Books.
