_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm will stretch thunderstorms from southern Canada
through northern West Virginia today. Any thunderstorm can
bring gusty winds and small hail. Elsewhere across the
Northeast, areas of patchy fog to start will be replaced
with abundant sunshine and dry weather. Meanwhile,
thunderstorms will drench the Gulf Coast. Heavy downpours in
the western Florida Peninsula can lead to flooding,
especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Unseasonably hot weather will continue in the Southwest with
some places having days of record-shattering high
temperatures. Off to the north, pleasant and mild weather
will span from Washington to the western Plains. Areas a
cross the Great Lakes and Midwest, it will be noticeably
cooler, and there will be a persistent breeze.
