Thousands in Ireland still without power as officials say Storm Éowyn cleanup will take time

0
Ireland has called in help from England and France to restore power to hundreds of thousands of people after the most disruptive storm for years. More than 1 million people in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland were left without electricity after Storm Éowyn roared through on Friday. The storm's name is pronounced AY-oh-win. The state electricity company said that more than 300,000 properties in Ireland still had no power on Sunday. The company said it could be two more weeks before electricity is restored to everyone. One man in Ireland and a second in Scotland died when trees fell on their cars during the storm.
