The son-in-law of a Mexican drug lord entered a guilty plea over an 11-year price-fixing scheme that used deadly force along the U.S.-Mexico border. Osiel Cárdenas Guillén's son-in-law, Carlos Favian Martinez, entered the guilty plea on Tuesday before a federal court in Houston. Prosecutors alleged the scheme involved fixing the prices of forwarding agency services in Los Indios, Texas, for migrants who buy used vehicles in the U.S. and cross them through the border to resell them in Central America. The plea agreement outlined an 11-year prison term, but a sentencing hearing is set for May.
