TORONTO (AP) — TORONTO (AP) — Manulife Financial Corp. (MFC) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $1.17 billion.

The Toronto-based company said it had net income of 63 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 74 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 67 cents per share.

The financial services company posted revenue of $9.31 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $3.93 billion, or $2.07 per share. Revenue was reported as $38.9 billion.
