Spanish authorities said they have discovered a suspected drug smuggling tunnel linking Morocco to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in north Africa. It was found during a recent operation targeting trafficking during which 6,000 kilograms (6.6 tons) of hashish have been seized. The narrow tunnel, at a warehouse in an industrial part of the tiny Spanish territory located on the northern Mediterranean coast of Africa opposite mainland Spain, “could have been used to transport drugs across the border between Morocco and Spain,” the Civil Guard said in a statement. No arrests have been made and no drugs were found at the site.
