A judge has rejected a plea deal for a Wisconsin man accused of ordering a brutal punishment for his 7-year-old great nephew that led to the boy's death. Prosecutors charged Timothy Hauschultz in 2019 with felony murder and other charges in connection with Ethan Hauschultz's death in April 2018. Authorities say Hauschultz told his son, Damian Hauschultz, to ensure Ethan carried a 45-pound log. The complaint says Damian beat Ethan and packed the boy in 80 pounds of snow. A judge rejected a deal Thursday that called for Timothy Hauschultz to plead guilty to two child abuse charges. His trial is set for Tuesday.
