Musical performances featured in a memorial ceremony for Grammy-winning singer and pianist Roberta Flack in New York. Flack died last month at age 88. Her intimate vocal and musical style made her one of the top recording artists of the 1970s and an influential performer long after. On Monday, a “Celebration of Life” memorial for Flack featured choral performances and a scheduled appearance by Stevie Wonder. Flack’s Celebration of Life took place at the Abyssinian Baptist Church and was open to the public. The service is being livestreamed at www.RobertaFlack.com.
