The Trump administration has paused some family planning grants as it investigates whether the providers are following federal laws. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says that no decisions are final. Organizations that receive the funding say that even a delay jeopardizes access to cancer screenings, contraception, and sexually transmitted infection services. They say all the grants are on hold in seven states. Nine Planned Parenthood affiliates and other groups that provide abortion are among those where funding is being withheld. Federal law bars the money from being used to pay for abortions.
