Israel freed dozens of doctors, nurses and other medical workers as part of this week's release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees under the Gaza ceasefire deal. But more than 100 health workers remain in Israeli prisons, according to a watchdog group. Among those still held is Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, a hospital director who became the face of health workers’ struggle to keep treating patients under Israeli siege and bombardment. Abu Safiya has been held for nearly 10 months since Israeli troops raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza after an 85-day siege.
