Four Chicago White Sox players received bonuses from Major League Baseball’s 2025 pre-arbitration pool, according to figures allocated under the sport’s collective bargaining agreement. The payouts are part of a system that rewards top pre-arbitration players based on awards voting and WAR-based calculations.

Shortstop Colson Montgomery earned $516,819, the highest total among White Sox players. The former first-round draft pick finished fifth in AL Rookie of the Year voting after slashing .239/.311/.529 with 21 homers and 55 RBIs in just 71 games. His 3.3 WAR led the club.

Right-hander Shane Smith received $255,276 after going 7-8 with a 3.81 ERA in 29 starts. The Rule 5 pick from Milwaukee served as the team’s lone All-Star representative and struck out 23.5% of hitters while walking just 9.4% and limiting opponents to a .216 batting average. His 2.3 WAR led all White Sox pitchers.

Catcher Kyle Teel was awarded $241,037 following a strong rookie showing that included a 1.9 WAR, the second-highest among White Sox position players, in 78 games. The 23-year-old hit .273/.375/.411 with eight homers and 35 RBIs.

Infielder Chase Meidroth rounded out the group with a $218,320 bonus after posting a 1.3 WAR. His 122 games played were the most by a White Sox rookie, and he posted a .253/.329/.320 line with five homers, 23 RBIs, 54 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.
