Utility crews are working to restore power to thousands of people in Wisconsin, the consequence of a weekend storm in the Great Lakes region that brought down power lines. The airport in Des Moines, Iowa, remained closed Sunday morning after a Delta Connection flight from Detroit slid off an icy runway Saturday night. Authorities say there were no injuries, and passengers were transported to the terminal by bus. Hundreds of churches in western Michigan told worshippers to stay home or watch services online after up to a foot of snow had fallen since Saturday in areas close to Lake Michigan.
