The Arizona senator is among a group of Democrats appearing in a video that urges American troops to defy what the lawmakers are calling “illegal orders.” Some experts say the Pentagon is misreading military law to go after Kelly as a retired Navy fighter pilot. Others say Kelly can’t be prosecuted as a member of Congress. A group of former military prosecutors insists he did nothing wrong. President Donald Trump has accused Kelly and the five other Democratic lawmakers in the video of sedition “punishable by DEATH.”
