Tehran has rejected a 45-day ceasefire proposal, insisting on a permanent end to the war. This comes as U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening expanded strikes on Iran's infrastructure if Tehran does not meet his Tuesday deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Monday he is not concerned about committing possible war crimes despite warnings that attacking civilian infrastructure is banned under international law. Israel carried out a new wave of attacks against Iran early Tuesday. Iran responded with missile fire on Israel and its Gulf Arab neighbors.
