Deputy Speaker and Batangas Rep. Raneo Abu expressed confidence yesterday that the controversial Anti-Political Dynasty bill will finally see the light this 17th Congress. He said the Lower Chamber would not think twice about passing significant legislation like measures seeking to end political dynasties in the country. “We have started it last Congress when we passed the SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Reform Law and I am hopeful we have a chance this Congress,” he said. In the 16th Congress, the approval of the bill on second reading was supposedly blocked by some House members from political clans. “I am hopeful that it will be passed this Congress because what I heard last Congress was the disagreement focused on the limitations and parameters of the bill.
