Long before the summer race series on Daniel Island, at The Citadel and at Charles Towne Landing gave runners some pavement races to do in the heat of the Lowcountry summer, there was a gulf on the calendar between June’s Floppin’ Flounder 5K and August’s Race for The ARK 5K in Summerville.
