Tengrinews.kz — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of Kyrgyzstan, according to Akorda.
The Head of State congratulated Sadyr Japarov on the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence.

“This significant date symbolizes the Kyrgyz people’s aspiration for freedom, sovereignty and independence. Over these years, Kyrgyzstan has successfully progressed from state-building to sustainable development, strengthened its statehood, preserved its rich spiritual heritage and become a respected country on the international stage. A clear testament to this is the election of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2027–2028,” the telegram said.

The message stressed that the two countries are linked by truly fraternal relations rooted in centuries-old traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries would continue to strengthen dynamically for the benefit of both peoples.
The President of Kazakhstan wished Sadyr Japarov success in his responsible state duties and wished the brotherly Kyrgyz people prosperity and well-being.
Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day is celebrated on August 31. On this day in 1991, the Supreme Council proclaimed the republic’s independence. The holiday marked the culmination of processes that began in 1990 with the adoption of laws on sovereignty and were ultimately consolidated after the failure of the August coup in Moscow. Since then, the date has been regarded as the country’s main national holiday, symbolizing the restoration of its statehood, and is marked by a public holiday, mass events and a concert in Bishkek.
