Commonly called "fracking," the procedure involves injecting substances including water, sand and chemicals underground to increase production from oil and gas wells. The BLM and other rule supporters also have appealed Skavdahl's decision to block implementation of the rules to a federal appeals court in Denver. "The fracking rule interferes with the state petitioners' lawful exercise of their own sovereign power without congressional authorization for that interference," Wyoming, Utah and Colorado stated in their brief filed on Monday. Former Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling has been fired by ESPN from his role as baseball analyst after his latest controversial foray into social media, the company announced on Wednesday.

The move comes after Schilling shared a Facebook post in response to the North Carolina law that bars transgender people from using bathrooms that do not correspond to their gender of birth.

Sometimes riding in an Uber can be awkward, and Hollywood is here to capitalize on it. 

Within 24 hours in mid-April, Universal and Fox both picked up comedies that center on the ride-hailing service, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The Universal movie is supposed to star Will Ferrel as an Uber driver "stuck with a deranged escaped-convict passenger (naturally)”, the Reporter said.
