Elevated lead levels found in some North Thurston schools

The Olympian reports (http://bit.ly/1XLM3Wx ) that the North Thurston Public School District said in a press release Thursday that it found lead in sinks, faucets and drinking water fountains. District spokeswoman Courtney Schrieve says families and staff members at those schools have been notified and the affected water fixtures have been shut off.

GNIDA and YEIDA to allow loans against residential property

A joint Board meeting of the three development Authorities of Gautam Budh Nagar on Thursday has approved collateral mortgage permission against residential plots or flats for Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development areas. This means owners of property in both areas can take a loan against their residential property. The proposal will now be forwarded to the Uttar Pradesh government for further approval before it can be implemented.

Located in the quaint town of Lynchburg, Tenn., the historic Jack Daniel distillery maintains a campsite feel while pumping out 119 million bottles of whiskey a year.

On a recent walking tour of the scenic facility, I couldn't help but notice the trees looked like they had their bark blow-torched.
