China's all-important services sector is slowing down

China’s services sector, now the largest part of the economy, is slowing.The latest Caxin-Markit services purchasing managers’ index (PMI) fell by one point to 51.7 in July, indicating that growth in the sector slowed modestly compared to levels seen in June.

The survey measures changes in activity levels from one month to the next. Anything above 50 signals growth, while anything below that level means contraction — so the higher the number the better. Читать дальше...
