RTL verhoogt winstverwachting

LUXEMBURG (ANP) - Mediabedrijf RTL Group is positiever geworden over de resultaten die dit jaar kunnen worden geboekt. Mede dankzij een sterk eerste halfjaar kan 2016 een beter resultaat opleveren dan 2015, meldde het moederbedrijf van onder meer de Nederlandse RTL-zenders donderdag.

AMSTERDAM (ANP) - Het aandeel Ahold was donderdag de enige stijger in een verder roodgekleurde AEX-index. Beleggers op Beursplein 5 verwerkten de kwartaalcijfers van het supermarktconcern. Ze zijn verder in afwachting van de speech van Fed-president Janet Yellen, vrijdag op de topconferentie van centrale bankiers in Jackson Hole.

Italiaanse reddingwerkers hebben afgelopen nacht in het dorpje Pescara del Tronto een 10-jarig meisje na 17 uur levend onder het puin vandaan gehaald. Het lijkt erop dat het meisje geen ernstige verwondingen heeft opgelopen.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised the test-firing of a submarine-launched ballistic missile and declared it "the greatest success," which puts the country in the "front rank" of nuclear military powers, official media reported on Thursday.
