Tourists help rescue man from the bay; victim critical

Two tourists from the United Kingdom found themselves in an unexpected situation Sunday, working alongside the San Francisco Fire Department to rescue a man in the bay. At 12:17 p.m., the Fire Department responded to an incident involving a 40-year-old man at Aquatic Park, according to posts from the department’s Facebook page. The Coast Guard used a small boat and a helicopter to search the area until late afternoon.

Four members of the U.S. Olympic fencing team showed up at Pier 39 Sunday, to the delight of dozens of kids who hope to follow in their footsteps.
