A man in a wheelchair detonated a pipe bomb inside an east Oakland health clinic Tuesday night, according to authorities, who believe his intent was to commit suicide. Oakland police Lt. Rachael Van Sloten said the man, whose name has not been released, entered the clinic lobby and detonated the bomb, killing himself. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Department sent its bomb squad to assist with the investigation and make sure no other explosive devices were inside the clinic.
