Legislature sends Christie bill aimed at stopping poaching

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Lawmakers sent Gov. Chris Christie a bill adding the state to an interstate agreement aimed at keeping poachers from fishing, hunting and trapping in New Jersey. The idea for the compact goes back to the 1980s when western states agreed to share information as a way to stop poachers from crossing borders to skirt violations.

Florida man refuses to waive extradition in shooting death

(AP) — A Florida man arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Massachusetts last week has refused to waive extradition. The 35-year-old was found suffering from gunshot wounds by young boys riding their bikes in the woods in Easton, Massachusetts last Tuesday.
