Obama warns Russia on hacking: ‘We can do stuff to you’

Yahoo Autos

President Obama warned Russia on Friday not to wage cyberwarfare against the United States, saying, “We can do stuff to you” as he defended his handling of Moscow’s alleged hacking of Democrats’ emails to influence the 2016 election. “Our goal continues to be to send a clear message to Russia or others not to do this to us, because we can do stuff to you,” Obama told reporters at his final press conference of 2016. Obama promised that any U.S. retaliation against Russia would come “in a thoughtful... Читать дальше...

NBCSports.com

After Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders scored a touchdown on Sunday, he celebrated by throwing the football like a pitcher throwing a fastball. It was a funny celebration, but it earned him a 15-yard penalty, and not it has earned him a fine. The league confirmed that Sanders was fined $12,154 for unsportsmanlike conduct. Although the…

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

A man clung for his life to an oceanside cliff in San Francisco early Friday as a rescue team used ropes to climb down and pull him to safety, officials said. Police received numerous calls of a 30-year-old man stuck on the side of the cliff about 1:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Sea Cliff Avenue, said Lt. Jonathan Baxter, a spokesman for the San Francisco Fire Department. Firefighters had to use multiple ropes to repel down the mountainside to bring the man, who was not identified, to safety.

Germany threatens to fine Facebook over hate speech

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

BERLIN (AP) — German officials are stepping up their criticism of Facebook, saying the social network is doing too little to stop hate speech and could face stiff fines unless it deletes illegal content faster. Thomas Oppermann, a senior lawmaker in Maas' Social Democratic Party, told German weekly Der Spiegel that dominant social media sites like Facebook could be required to delete illegal posts within 24 hours or face fines up to 500,000 euros ($522,000). The proposals come as German officials... Читать дальше...

America, Don't Be Fooled: Donald Trump Knows What He's Doing

The Huffington Post

I’m not sure how many things you’d get Michael Bloomberg, Marco Rubio, and Mitt Romney to agree on, but they did all say the same thing about Donald Trump: He’s a con man. As the chaotic disaster of his presidency begins to play itself out on the national stage, though, we need to take that assessment a step further: Donald Trump is a master of deception and distraction, and our biggest mistake would be to underestimate him. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He misdirects and misrepresents to compensate for his weakness as a leader. Читать дальше...
