Feds auditing Long Island school district, town and diocese
MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) — Federal authorities are auditing how a Long Island school district and town, as well as a Roman Catholic diocese, are using Superstorm Sandy disaster recovery money.
Newsday reports (http://nwsdy.li/1ZXu68V ) that the Inspector General's Office of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has been auditing Long Beach City schools since last year, in addition to the Town of North Hempstead and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.
