Champaign woman charged with identity theft involving mother
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — A 35-year-old rural Champaign woman has been charged with felony financial identity theft for allegedly using her mother's name to obtain multiple credit cards.
The (Champaign) News-Gazette (bit.ly/1QrlLnX ) reports that Sarah Hamilton was arrested Thursday and released from jail after posting bond. Online court records don't list an attorney on her behalf.
Hamilton is accused of charging more than $9,000 on seven different credit cards opened in her 58-year-old mother's name between August and November.___
