Funeral planned for slain Utah police officer

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — As many as 10,000 people are expected at a public funeral Monday to honor a Utah police officer killed while working overtime to pay for his cancer treatments

Officer Douglas Scott Barney, of the Unified Police Department in the Salt Lake City area, was killed on Jan. 17 while responding to a traffic accident.
