Fire at Pleasant Hill senior apartment building displaces resident

An early morning kitchen fire caused the evacuation of a senior apartment building in Pleasant Hill on Sunday, fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived about 12:52 a.m. at the building at 100 Boyd Road and found the fire burning in a third-floor apartment, said Fire Marshal Robert Marshall of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
