Cal to learn Tyrone Wallace’s return date at Thursday appointment

Cal point guard Tyrone Wallace expects to learn after a Thursday doctor’s appointment when he’ll be able to return to the lineup, head coach Cuonzo Martin said on a teleconference Tuesday morning.

Though it appears unlikely Wallace will play Thursday night against No. 11 Oregon, Martin didn’t rule out the possibility of the senior returning for Saturday’s game against Oregon State.

A healthy Wallace could significantly buoy Cal’s NCAA Tournament hopes.

With Wallace sidelined, freshman Jaylen Brown and sophomore Brandon Chauca have shared backup point guard duties.
