Yahoo lays off 107 Sunnyvale employees, who will depart by April
The cuts are part of the beleaguered tech giant’s plans to reduce its global workforce by 15 percent, as it continues to struggle to increase its share of worldwide advertising revenues.
Sunnyvale employees will be let go on April 11, according to a notice filed with the state’s Employment Development Department.
Earlier this week, Sunnyvale Mayor Glenn Hendricks said it was “a bummer” to hear about Yahoo’s plans to reduce its global workforce and hoped that the cuts wouldn’t come to his city.
