DeepMind’s artificial intelligence system beat a top-ranked player of the board game Go in a televised match in South Korea, the first contest in a five-game match.

The breakthrough astounded experts, who had thought it would be five to 10 years before artificial intelligence would be good enough to play the 2,500-year-old strategy game as well as a someone like Lee Sedol, whom Google said has been the top-ranked Go player of the past decade.

A Wired story Wednesday about how people on the Internet seem preoccupied with all the goofy stuff going on in the background of campaign videos was fine on its own, but Wired’s own correction at the bottom of the story stole its thunder: “Due to an oversight involving a haphazardly-installed Chrome extension during the editing process, the name Donald Trump was erroneously replaced with the phrase ‘Someone With Tiny Hands’ when this story originally published.”
