‘Mo Buckets’ ignites Warriors’ 46th straight home win
Reserve big man Marreese Speights played 16 ½ fewer minutes than point guard Stephen Curry and still outscored the MVP in the Warriors’ 115-94 victory over Utah at Oracle Arena.
On a night when Curry made only one shot inside the three-point arc - 4-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-9 from three-point range - and scored 12 points, Speights picked up the slack with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
The Warriors (57-6) extended their NBA record streak of regular season home wins to 46 and dropped the Jazz (29-34) to three games back of the Western Conference’s eighth and final playoff berth.
Utah was led by Trey Burke’s 18 points off the bench, and Gordon Hayward added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the Jazz, who committed 20 turnovers that the Warriors converted into 28 points.
[...] the Warriors clung to just a 23-21 first-quarter lead, and Utah took a 26-25 lead on a Joe Ingles three-pointer midway through the second quarter.
