Egypt regrets EU lawmakers' resolution over Italian's death

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt's Foreign Ministry has expressed regret over the European Parliament's resolution calling for the suspension of cooperation with Cairo over the case of an Italian student who was believed tortured to death in Egypt.

Adopted Thursday, the resolution condemned the killing of researcher Giulio Regeni and said Egyptian security forces are suspected culprits.
