Police: In exchange of gunfire, officer shot, 1 suspect dead

(AP) — A police chief says an officer has been shot and one person has died after police tried to stop a suspected stolen vehicle in a city outside Philadelphia but were fired upon.

Chester Police Chief James Nolan tells WCAU-TV that when officers tried to stop the vehicle Saturday afternoon "there ended up being shots fired from the car" and officers returned fire.
