Plane’s landing gear collapses in San Jose emergency landing A private plane with four passengers on board made an emergency landing at Mineta San Jose International Airport on Thursday and its landing gear collapsed on touchdown, officials said. The pilot of the turboprop aircraft, a Piaggio P.180 Avanti, called in an emergency and landing gear trouble just before noon, causing firefighters and airport crews to get ready for its arrival, said Rosemary Barnes, a spokeswoman for the airport.
