UW files lawsuit for control over historic buildings
The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/1pNE782 ) that a Superior Court judge on Friday will hear arguments in the university's lawsuit about the city's Landmark Preservation Ordinance, which has been invoked by preservationists as UW looks to tear down a historic building that used to house a nuclear reactor.
The university argues that its Board of Regents is best suited to decide if a building has historic value, but preservationists say the city should have a role in deciding what buildings have historic properties.
