ShakesBeer celebrates the Bard with spirit
Ale’s well that ends well as the Livermore Shakespeare Festival celebrates William Shakespeare’s legacy with ShakesBeer at Eight Bridges Brewing Co. The all-ages affair includes local beers, food, kids’ games and “Drunken Shakespeare,” Lisa A. Tromovitch’s sketch comedy adaptation of Shakespeare’s boozy scenes in which his blotto characters take center stage.
ShakesBeer is a free event with a portion of food and drink sales going to LSF’s education program and Livermore public schools.
[...] the LSF event is not alone in commemorating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death this weekend.
NapaShakes also presents New York’s Fiasco Theater’s production of “Cymbeline,” on Friday-Saturday, April 22-23, while “Hamlet” continues at Berkeley’s Shotgun Players.
