Jerry Brown, wife are selling their Oakland hills home

The governor and his wife, Anne Gust Brown, are selling their home of 10 years in the Oakland hills after taking up residence in the historic and recently renovated Governor’s Mansion in Sacramento.

While they still have a rental in San Francisco, Brown intends to build a home on rural property he owns in Colusa County after he is termed out of office in 2018, said Brown’s listing agent, Robin Dustan of McGuire Real Estate.

The 4,200-square-foot Oakland hills home with its Japanese-inspired design will hit the market with a $2.6 million asking price Friday.

Dustan, who was the listing agent on the home when the Browns bought it, said the house features views from all five levels and has the rare bonus of privacy, given it has city-owned lots on either side of it.

The home includes a spa level that has glass garage-style roll-up doors opening to a large deck with views of the bay.
