Names and faces: Jack Clark, Jake Arrieta

The Cal rugby coach, who led the Bears to their 26th national title at BYU on Saturday, headlines the eight-person Cal Hall of Fame Class of 2016, which was announced Wednesday.

[...] in the class are Mark McNamara (basketball), Jerrott Willard (football), Brent Burns (track and field), Mike Deleray (soccer), Steve DeVries (tennis), Vikki Lang (golf) and Veronica Nelson (softball).

McNamara, a center who was a first-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in 1982, led the Pac-10 in scoring, rebounding and field-goal percentage as a senior.

Arrieta is coming off a breakout season, helping the Cubs get to the NL Championship Series.

“I think for a lot of guys, it makes sense to do that, and a lot of Scott’s clients have gone to free agency and it worked out for them,” Arrieta said.
