Warriors looking for draft sleeper at combine
A handful of the Warriors’ top decision-makers are in Chicago this week, searching at the NBA Combine for another sleeper to nab with the No. 30 overall pick next month. “It’s an ideal place to draft for three types of players,” said Fran Fraschilla, ESPN college basketball analyst and international hoops expert. Fraschilla thinks projection-type players, like Kentucky freshman big man Skal Labissiere and Vanderbilt junior center Damian Jones, will be gone when the Warriors pick, but he said getting Jones would be like “hitting the lottery again.” Warriors executive board member Jerry West, assistant general managers Kirk Lacob and Travis Schlenk, director of player personnel Larry Harris, coordinator of basketball operations Kent Lacob and scouts Lamont Peterson and Jonnie West are already in Chicago.
