Ex-student files $1M lawsuit against UMass-Lowell
BOSTON (AP) — A former University of Massachusetts-Lowell student has filed a $1 million lawsuit against the university claiming he was unfairly expelled after he was charged with kidnapping his former girlfriend.
The Sun of Lowell (http://bit.ly/1TjzPzA ) reports that 27-year-old Fabrice Kamayou says in the federal lawsuit that his efforts to earn a graduate degree from other schools were thwarted because of his expulsion.
Kamayou was charged in 2013 with domestic assault, kidnapping and battery in connection for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend.
