Ex-nurse accused of filing bogus records on patient's death

Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street's office says 58-year-old Cheryl Poirrier of La Place was arrested Monday on charges of filing false public records and malfeasance in office.

A court filing says Poirrier was employed by the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs and was working as a licensed practical nurse at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve when a resident died in January 2015 several hours after falling in his room.
