Tim Lincecum leaning toward Angels

SAN DIEGO - Tim Lincecum, whose entire professional career has been with the Giants, could be close to signing a contract with another team.

The Giants had several representatives, and team officials Bobby Evans and Dick Tidrow had seen Lincecum throw in a private session 10 days earlier.

Garrett Richards is out with a torn elbow ligament, Tyler Skaggs is recovering from Tommy John surgery, C.J. Wilson won’t be back until at least June after undergoing elbow surgery for bone spurs and Andrew Heaney has forearm and elbow issues.

There’s plenty of room for Lincecum, who said at his showcase he’s already able to pitch at the Triple-A level and would need limited starts before being ready for the big leagues.
