Snohomish County schools offer top teacher salaries in state
According to the Washington Education Association, close behind are school districts in Snohomish ($91,899), Arlington ($91,372), Edmonds ($90,644) and Marysville ($90,346).
Everett Public Schools Superintendent Gary Cohn said the school board has worked to support teachers and that the community has supported the effort by passing property tax levies to help provide competitive salaries.
The Supreme Court has held the state in contempt over the Legislature's failure to make a plan for resolving the remaining issues over paying the full costs of basic education, while ending its overreliance on local tax levies.
